Greta Week 6: Lagoon
On Friday I ditched out of work early to go to Lagoon with my friend Cinthya. She's interning with Overstock this summer and Overstock had rented out the entire park for their employees who could all bring a +1. Cinthya doesn't do well with roller coasters or big rides, but she says she wants to love them and experience them. We went on several rides and she was so brave. Then we saw one that did two big loops upside down and she told me I should go on it and that she'd watch. I was totally game because HELLOOO roller coasters are the best and going upside down is very thrilling to me, but also equally terrifying. I hopped in line and when it was my turn I got into the cart by myself, leaving the seat next to me empty. They were about to send us off when the employee was asking a little girl who was in line if she was going to get in. She looked very scared and was all by herself. I told her she should get in next to me. She hesitantly agreed. I asked her if she'd been on this ride before and if she was scared. She said hadn't been on it before and that she was terrified. Her name is Juliana, turns out she was not there alone, but her brothers had gotten into one of the cars ahead of us, leaving her by herself. *eyeroll* @ her brothers. She's only like 8 or 9, I definitely would not be going on upside down roller coasters by myself at her age. And secretly I was also happy to not have to sit by myself on the ride. I told her that the best thing to do is just scream as loud as she can and I offered to hold her hand which she accepted. It was a very bonding experience and in case you were wondering, the ride was scary and wonderful.
Also Cinthya later got up the courage to ride on the Cannibal with me and it was AMAAAAZING.
The ride where I met Juliana is featured behind me in this photo.
